The government will buy all crops at MSP
While answering the questions raised in Rajya Sabha amidst the announcement of the farmers’ organization to work in Delhi, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh said that the government will buy all crops at MSP. Shivraj Chauhan said in his speech in Rajya Sabha yesterday that the Narendra Modi government will buy all agricultural produce at the minimum support price. While answering the questions of the farmers on the issue of MSP during the question meeting yesterday, Shivraj Singh said that I want to assure the House that all the produce of the farmers will be purchased on MSP.
He said that this is the Modi Government and it is our guarantee to fulfil the guarantee of the Modi Government. Taking aim at the Congress he said that when my opposition friends were in power they had said that they will not accept the recommendations of the MS Swaminathan Commission, especially on the matter of giving more than 50% increase over the cost price of produce, Shivraj did not stop from showing his face to the Congress.
He said that while being in power Congress never gave MSP to the farmers. On the other hand Modi Government is giving 50% on production cost to the farmers, in which it has been continuously increasing for the last 10 years.
The Agriculture Minister said that the Modi Government is moving ahead with its schemes for the welfare of farmers, this can be guessed from the fact that in the year 2015 this mantra was named as Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Mantra.
Earlier this mantra had no connection with farmers welfare. He also answered the questions asked by the opposition regarding loan waiver of farmers.Shivraj counted the strengths of the Modi Government regarding the welfare of farmers. He said that we will increase production, reduce cost of production, give fair price for production, if there is any loss to the crop then it will be compensated through Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and by moving towards natural farming, we will increase the income of farmers so much that farmers do not have to ask for loan waiver again and again.
We and our government have faith in increasing the income of farmers. Prime Minister Modi has resolved for a developed India and we have also prepared a road map for it. We are not going to leave any stone unturned in achieving this.
